There’s a new rumor floating around that Apple will launch the new unibody 17″ MacBook Pro on tuesday and it will feature a non user replaceable battery. I can’t seriously believe this could be true. The 17″ is a pro machine and doing so would be idiotic, especially given the rate at which a pro could run through batteries. Even if it is higher capacity, this really won’t go down well. I suspect this is just someone misinterpreting some specs they saw. In all likelihood it’s the same kind of design as the macbook pro, which could appear non user replaceable at first glance, but for Apple to do such a dumb move would really alienate their professional customers. Mind you, Im sure there will be a chorus of die hard mac macs that will loudly clap the latest in a long line of genius decisions.
