Bono apparently has a new mission in life. Not content with defeating the scourge debt in Africa and avoiding taxes in his home country, the musician turned saviour is now going to rescue the music industry by (effectively) criminalising the entire world. Yep that’s right. The poor oppressed multi-millionaire is shocked by “rich service providers” making “swollen profits that perfectly mimic the losses of the music industry”. His solution, track everything on the internet, comparing the struggle to the fight against child pornography and calling it “Reverse Robin Hooding” (Isn’t that robbing from the poor to give to the rich – and isn’t that the music industry’s current modus operandi ?)
Awesome poster

As a spokesman from Amazon says, Blu-ray was indeed huge. “As evidenced in our top-seller lists, Blu-ray format is very popular with our customers and several of our top-selling titles are selling more in Blu-ray than standard format.”
It was only a matter of time. I’d love to know how this compares to sale of download titles. I suspect they don’t even come close.

Macworld’s Jonathan Seff takes the new (and much improved) handbrake 0.9.4 for a spin
Awesome
Handbrake, the venerable dvd ripping software has been updated, and according to the release notes the release is quite substantial. Notable improvements include a 64bit version, speed improvements and quality improvements. They’ve also cleaned out a lot of defunct code and functionality.
This took place in a Boston Subway station when an inebriated woman fell onto the tracks. That was one incredibly lucky escape.
