For all those people who think Apple shouldn’t be running competitive ads against the Windows 7 launch because it’s bad taste, here’s what Microsoft pulled when Sony launched the PS3. Or how about setting up a windows 7 booth across the road from the Japan Linux Symposium ? So, I really don’t think Microsoft needs defending from “big bad Apple” over a few ads when they’re mild compared to the stunts Microsoft has pulled over the years when its competitors launched products.
An amazing “banner” ad that appeared on IGN for the iPod Touch. Whoever comes up with these deserves some sort of award.

Unbelievably this is an actual commercial for IE8. It really makes you wonder who is responsible for microsoft’s advertising. Don’t be surprised if this is gone soon.
Shawn King writes an interesting article for Mac Observer on the recent round of commercials from Microsoft and makes some good points.
Things keep occurring to me about Microsoft’s “Laptop Hunters” series of commercials that just don’t make any sense, so here’s a completly random list of some of the stranger aspects of these commercials:
1. There is no mention of Windows anywhere in the Commercial, except as a graphic at the end. Considering this is what Microsoft is selling, the ad contained virtually no reference to the product actually being sold.
