When Apple didn’t release the new 17″ MacBook Pro with the 15″ some have speculated as to it’s fate, however the general consensus is that it will arrive sometime early next year, probably at Macworld. I have never been that pushed about a larger format laptop, despite it being ideal for graphics work. However given some of the recent models by competitors, If Apple offered some features in the line I’d certainly consider it over the 15″. Anyway, here’s a completely personal fantasy wish list, so take it or leave it – or add your own suggestions in the comments.
1. Full size keyboard with keypad. I mean really, do we need 3″ thick speaker grills.
2. Blu-Ray. Bag of hurt or not, most PC manufacturers are offering it so get the finger out Apple.
3. Dual Drives. Sony offer this option on their latest 18″ and it makes sense, especially for power users. Think of it, two 320Gig drives striped. Mmmmm. (Battery life go bye bye)
4. All the enhancements of the new 15″
5. Dual Firewire Ports
Actually to be honest, I’d be happy with 1 and 2. That alone would make me seriously consider a 17″. Will it happen? Probably not, but one can but dream.
