Beginning and end of an era as lewis hamilton wins the world championship
I’ve been watching the formulae 1 grand prix for nearly ten years and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a race as nail biting as yesterdays conclusion to a thrilling world championship. Just as it seemed that bad luck had stolen the title from lewis as the rain came down he retook the necessary place with only 18 seconds to go. It was such a deserved win especially given the frequent rediculous steward rulings against lewis throughout the year.
It was also great for itv to end their twelve years of formulae one coverage with a British win. Itv’s coverage over the past twelve championships has been superb and a big mantle has been passed to BBC. Hopefully they will live up to the challenge.
In the mean time congratulations to lewis for a well deserved title victory, to mc claren for coming through all the crap they’ve had to face over the last two years. I’m sure this is only the beginning of the Hamilton phenomon.
