Apple has confirmed widespread reports complaining at the manner in which the iPod touch displays video with deep black areas, warning that some early units have “defective screens”.

That’s more like it. At least now consumers can at least feel assured that it’s not just a crap screen. I wonder when the touches eventually become available in Europe will we get a fresh batch or more of the defective ones.
