Roughly Drafted on Game Console Sales

Roughly drafted has a nice fud free piece on sales of game consoles. It is one of the few articles on the matter that I have read that seems to have picked up on Microsoft’s rapidly falling sales. Everyone seems to be keen to bash Sony every chance it gets, but as this article points out:

” the PS3 is matching the Xbox 360’s first year sales while 360 itself isn’t, allowing Sony to incrementally catch up while Microsoft languishes with static sales.

In just half a year, Sony is at half of Microsoft’s sales, despite the Xbox 360 having been on sale for over a year and a half. Nintendo’s Wii, however, is taking off in a way that leaves both of the HD consoles behind. It appears poised to pass total sales of the 360 next month at the end of the third quarter. ”

this echoes my own sentiments on this which I wrote about not so long ago. If you missed it please give it a read too. I’m so sick and tired of the anti Playstation hysteria that seems to have gripped certain corners of the technology press while the broader picture is not being picked up by anyone. Kudos to Mr. Dilliger for an excellent article.
