Top 5 Fictional Leopard Utilities

With a few months still to go to the Launch of Apple’s next operating system I took some time to gaze into my silicon crystal ball and part the sands of time to reveal what will be the top 5 selling utilities for OS X 10.5 this time next year. Well, Ok, so I don’t have a crystal ball, but how cool would that be? Maybe some insane evil genius will find a way to hack time machine so that it works in reverse and you can see the files you’re going to create before you even create them!

All joking aside (well no, not really) here are the top 5 Leopard utilities that haven’t even been created yet. (In reverse order)

5. Metalize 0.9a1
Restores the brushed metal appearance to OS X. For years people have written utilities to remove the brushed metal appearance. Now that Apple have resigned it to the history books this software fills the need of those die hard brushed metal fans that have been holding a candle light vigil outside cupertino ever since WWDC.

4. Time Machine Recover 1.0
Recovers corrupt time machine archives. Come on, you know it’s going to happen.

3. Core Animation Killer 0.01
Removes the un-nessessary core animation interface eye candy form applications. Developer claims it can speed up your workflow 3 fold but release notes caution that there may be frequent kernel panics. Users claim that it is “still worth it.”

2. Shadow Fixer 0.8b2
Utility to restore the front window drop shadow and the numerous dock shadows to a more reasonable level.

….. drum roll please…..

1. SolidBar 1.0
Restores the solid menu bar. When asked why he developed this utility the developer merely responded “what the hell were they thinking.” The software has quickly become the most downloaded utility ever.
