Im trying twitter again, just to see what all the fuss is about. I had tried using twitter before, but frankly didn’t see the point or even how to make practical use of it. In a way it seems to me that twitter is a solution looking for a problem, but all the “cool kids” seem to be jumping on board so I’ll give it another shot. Interestingly enough though., BBC and some other news organizations seem to be posting headlines which is pretty cool, but then that’s what RSS readers are for. I think Twitter is one of those things that requires a sort of “critical mass” to be reached for it to be useful to any individual; i.e. if you’re not part of a decent size group of friends using it together, it doesn’t hold much value.
I used it for a while, then ditched it, then went back to it. Mostly because I like the way it fills the “gap” when I want to post things that are beyond the need for the immediacy of IM, yet aren’t worthy of the time or effort of a full blog entry.
It also works through iChat, which is cool.
